I was pretty happy to see a desk calendar with a small coloring project - I don’t have a lot of time, so anything larger typically is started and never finished. BUT - I don’t understand WHY - the calendar paper is a glossy paper that is extremely hard to color. I have a childish love of crayons, but the paper causes the wax to clump. Using gel ink pens on this paper is a mess, because the ink smudges and cannot dry quickly at all. Even art colored pencils do not really work well - the color looks washed out because the glossy paper doesn’t allow the lead to stay in place, and so the color looks washed out from the white of the paper showing through. I’m really disappointed - the designs are nice, and would be fun to color, but I don’t really see how it works! (The pictures are using crayon, pencil, and gel ink)
